Quality systems

Queens Products and its suppliers work in accordance with various quality systems and quality standards. Examples are: Dutch HACCP, BRC (British Retail Consortium), IFS (International Food Standard), FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification) and Global GAP.
Besides the quality standards that are oriented towards food safety, the products of Queens comply with the sustainability standards, such as MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council).

GFSI - Global Food Safety Initiative

In 2000 eight prominent supermarket organizations from all over the world took the initiative to develop a procedure to judge and guarantee food safety quality systems. This judging system was called GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative).
GFSI judges if quality standards of organizations, companies or sectors, comply with the high GFSI-requirements.

Besides supermarket organizations also other organizations and companies require GFSI approval for the quality standards of their food products.
For organizations and companies goes: “Once GFSI –certified, everywhere accepted”.

GFSI has, among others, approved the following standards: BRC, IFS, Dutch HACCP, FSSC 22000 and Global GAP. The quality standards BRC, IFS, HACCP, FSSC 22000 are oriented towards the production and trading of food products. The aim of certified standards is food safety. The standards must guarantee that products are made without any danger for public health and that they comply with all requirements for food safety and quality, and to all statutory regulations.

Global GAP is short for Global Good Agricultural Practice. Global GAP makes high demands on food producers, such as farmers, market gardeners and fishermen, in the field of food safety, sustainability and quality. Global GAP wants to promote food safety and meet other consumer requirements, such as sustainable agriculture and fishery. For more information: www.globalgap.org.

Queens Products attach great value to food safety and realizes the overall importance of these quality systems. Queens Products expects in any case a certified BRC- or IFS-system from its partner-suppliers.

The packing company of Queens Products has been certified for both of the above mentioned standards. Queens Products has a “BRC-wholesale/storage and distribution” certificate.
All quality systems that are involved in the products of Queens Products, are evaluated each year. They form an important and firm basis for the confidence in our company and our products, at both customers and consumers.

Quality checks

Queens Products has a simple definition for quality: all supplied products must comply with the expectations of customers and consumers. All products must be safe, comply with legal demands and expectations . For instance aroma, colour, taste and appearance or other product characteristics.
In real terms this means that Queens Products not only checks the final product, but judges much sooner if a product has been produced correctly.

Queens Products checks the quality in all production stages: from product development and purchase, via production, transport and storage, till sales and delivery to the customer.
Queens Products has its own office in China. Queens demands the results of all checks from its suppliers. We also react to customer remarks on our products and ask customers and consumers for their opinion of Queens and its products.

All these checks and findings are recorded in a quality handbook, in which all quality checks and procedures are written. Once a year the quality system is checked by an independent organization. All major supermarkets in Europe ask for these important evaluations.
Queens Products judges the quality of its products in a systematic way, during all production stages. The quality is demonstrable because of transparent recordings and intensive checks of all these data. A very important issue to gain confidence of customers and consumers.
