The analysis concerned a very restricted spot check of only eight samples. In three samples low concentrations of the remains of plant protection were found. Pangasius

Queens Products does not recognize itself in the described situation concerning pangasius production in the Mekong Delta, reported by Scienta Nova.

Pangasius from the Mekong Delta is a safe product. Carried out measurements fall within the prevailing standards. The production of pangasius comply with the applied Vietnamese- and European legal rules and legislation.

Consumers want reliable, good and safe fish for an attractive price. Queens Products takes its responsibility by supplying fresh frozen pangasius within the rules of legislation. We use our own quality procedures. Besides that, our suppliers work in accordance with international quality standards.

Queens Products realizes that production, working procedures and working conditions in Asia, resp. Vietnam, do not yet have the same level as those of the European Union and that improvements could be made on several fronts. The countries, local sectors and companies develop however in  high speed. Aquaculture is in Vietnam an important economic factor. The sector is important for the development of the country. The developments gradually go into the direction of making the sector more and more sustainable.

Within its capacities, Queens Products takes its responsibility by contributing positively to the attempt to raise the level of production of safe, sustainable, nourishing and tasty pangasius. This is a continuous process.

MSC certified fish

Queens Products has decided from its strategic vision, to put MSC certified fish in its assortment Wild Catch as much as possible. Not all fish species have yet been certified. For these fish species Queens Products requires information about its status of the fisheries as much as possible and searches for alternative fish species, when doubts arise about the sustainable character of the fisheries.

Queens Products worries about the large, and still increasing number of social organizations that each give their own interpretation  to the sustainability concept. We think that proliferation of labels and interpretations are of no avail to the consumer, as well as the environment.

Queens Products is one of the leading Dutch suppliers of fresh frozen fish. Sustainability and social responsible management are the key points of our company policy. Within its company policy and social responsible management, Queens Products leave no stone unturned to support initiatives to achieve sustainably fishery.
